Located on the slope which from the Grignetta descends towards Mandello, is in a very panoramic position. Open every weekend, and continusly from the middle of June to the middle of September. It has 46 sleeping places with the services of a small hotel..
It is frequented as a destination in itself, as a departure point for climbs on the nearby pinnacles of Cecilia, Costanza and Cinquantenario and for crossings to other shelters. Access: from Piani Resinelli and from Mandello Lario. Tel. 0341.202383, 339.1344559. Sleeping places: 46.
Piani Resinelli - 1278 mt.
Located on a vast plateau at the feet of the Grignetta, it is, alpinistically speaking, the area’s most important centre, just 16 km from Lecco, where it is connected to by bus service. It is the departure point for all climbs up Grigna Meridionale and for interesting crossings. There are: restaurants and rifugi (shelter)-hotel; Alpine Guides; Alpino Rescue Station ; ski lifts; camping; a natural park (Parco Valentino); a mineral park.
Bivacco Bruno Ferrario - 2184 mt. (Ragni della Grignetta - Lecco)
Stands on the peak of Grignetta and, always open, can offer shelter in the case of bad weather and in emergency situations. Access: climbing itineraries to the Grigna Meridionale summit.
Rifugio (Shelter) S.E.L. Rocca Locatelli - 1278 mt.
After having purcased an old iron mine, in 1908 the Lecce Excursion Society established its reference post right here at the base of the Grignetta. Open all year, closed Mondays during the winter; evening opening only upon reservation. Access: Trailmark 3 from Laorca, 2 and 1 from Rancio. Tel 0341.590163, 333.7445515 – Sleeping places: 24.
Rifugio (Shelter) Carlo Porta - 1426 mt. (C.A.I. - Milano)
It is located at the foot of the Grignetta, just above the Piani Resinelli, from which you can access by motor vehicles up to just a few minutes from the Shelter. Open year-round, offering hotel service. Departure point for all climbes on the Grignetta.
