Dongo is an active center of the northwestern Lario.
Since 1400 furnaces worked you in order to work the iron extracted from the mines of Go them Customs, still today the industry of the iron is flourishing.
The country enjoys wonderful sight until Bellagio to south, and towards Gravedona and the extremity of the Lake Como to north.

The panorama is always vast: wonderful sunsets, when the PreAlps Mesolcine surmise pinkish and violaceous luminescences while already the lago and the forests are mantle of semi-darkness.
Between the palaces town hall detaches the neoclassic Manzi , of Pietro Gilardoni (1824), student of the Pollak, whose inside luxurious is decorated.
Following on the left of the Town hall, it is reached the Romanesque church of S. Maria of Màrtinico, constructed between the XI and the XII sec., to the inside one aisle sluice from semicircular apse, between the church furnishingses, one cross astylar in golden silver of Francesco di Gregorio of 1513.

To mount of the church, one walk of approximately 30' tiny through the fraction of Barbignano, it leads to the Sanctuary of S. Gottardo patron of Dongo, to whose inside is one shovel of Gian Giacomo Barbelli.
To Dongo the last action of the life of the fascist regimen with the capture had beginning, the 27/4/1945, of the patrol of Mussolini and the execution of 15 between ministers and gerarchi.
